Vector database
A vector database is a store built to save embeddings and quickly find the items whose meaning is closest to a question.
What it means in practice
It is the lookup part of many document question-answering tools. You do not need one for a small set of notes, but it helps when there are many documents.
Example
A store holding every help page so a bot can fetch the three most relevant ones for each question.
