AI assistant
An AI assistant is a chat-style program that answers questions and writes or edits text, images or code when you ask it.
What it means in practice
It waits for your request and replies; it does not act on its own. The quality of the answer depends on how clearly you ask.
Example
Asking an assistant to turn meeting notes into a task list.
