Sandra plans a week of posts in twenty minutes

01 — “Did you hire an agency?”

Three comments before breakfast asked the same thing: did you hire an agency? Sandra laughed, because the “agency” had been twenty minutes on Sunday evening, one template, her own photographs and a rule she does not break. She typed “no” to all three and considered, briefly, charging herself a fee.

02 — Seven squares

Seven squares, one template, seven of her own photographs. The machine wrote the captions in seconds and Sandra rewrote every one of them, because it kept calling a bag “a journey” and a zip “an experience”. Her captions say what the bag is for and what it costs. Nobody has ever travelled in a handbag.

03 — The rule

The rule is one line and it is on every post, in the same place, in the same small letters: faux leather (PU). Seven times in a week. Her assistant called it boring. Sandra called it the only line that matters, because the people who buy from her once buy again when the bag turns out to be what the post said.

04 — Twenty minutes

It took twenty minutes, and the rest of Sunday she sewed. On Monday the week’s posts went out by themselves, one a day, each with its small honest line, while she was cutting PU on the big table. If that is an agency, Sandra wrote to the third commenter, then I am the agency — and I am fully booked.
