Tomas and the three cats nobody photographs well

01 — Bad at marketing

Three cats had been at Sanatorija longer than the others, and Tomas knew why without looking at the wall: the serious one photographed like an insult, the fast one like a blur, and the shy one never stayed in the frame at all. “Great cats,” he told them. “Terrible at marketing.” The serious one agreed by leaving.

02 — The wall notes

Nobody reads the notes on the wall, so Tomas took them down and typed them in, word for word: Serious. Sleeps on your feet. Hates Tuesdays. Fastest in the house. Hides in boxes, purrs like a tractor. He set one rule before he pressed anything: real photos only. Bad ones, if necessary. No cute lies.

03 — Thirty seconds each

Thirty seconds each — the bad photos, his own words, a calm voice that did not try to sell anything. In motion the serious cat looked exactly as serious as in life, which was the point. The fast one got the sentence about speed. The shy one got a quiet corner, a lamp and, finally, a face.

04 — Six applications

By Sunday there were six applications for the serious cat, four for the fast one, and two for the shy one — two more than in her whole life. Tomas read them all to the cats, who were unmoved. The serious one left for a flat near the river on Wednesday. She still hates Tuesdays. It says so in the contract.
