- Humor with a purpose. Humor does three useful things: it gets a smile, it makes you memorable and it makes you human. It does not replace being clear and useful.
Practice: Mark five moments for humor and five without it. - Your humor voice. Humor has flavours: dry, warm, playful, understated, absurd, self-deprecating. Choose one or two that match how you speak.
Practice: Collect five real examples and write your humor voice card.
Module 2: Five reliable joke frames and Use it in your messages
Lessons 3 to 5: Five reliable joke frames; Test on a human; Use it in your messages.
- Five reliable joke frames. Frames give you a starting point so you do not stare at a blank page.
Practice: Write one line per frame and keep your three best. - Test on a human. The helper cannot tell you how a joke lands with a real person. Ask a friend or customer: show the line and watch.
Practice: Test three lines on two people. - Use it in your messages. One light line per message is plenty. Put it in the greeting, the subject line or the sign-off, not in the middle of the price, the date or the terms.
