Guide
A 7-day plan for a quiet hotel or guest house
Give a small hotel, guest house or rental a clear one-week plan to look and read better — so more of the people who find it decide to book.
What you need
- The owner’s agreement and one person from the team each day
- A phone with a small gimbal or steady hand
- Any AI chat assistant
- An AI video tool for subtitles and voice-over (optional)
Steps
Spend one hour as a guest
Sit in the lobby and walk to a room as a guest would. Note where people stop, what they look at and what makes them leave.
Make the plan in one evening
Use the prompt below. Seven days, one owner and one result you can check for each day.
Day 1–2: layout and rooms
Move furniture away from the walls into small groups, add light and one plant per room, make every bed the same way.
Day 3–4: photos and walk-through guides
Photograph every room type at golden hour. Film short walks: from the street door to the room, to breakfast, to the quietest spot.
Day 5–6: ads and booking pages
Cut short vertical ads from the walks; keep only the ones that show the place truthfully. Rewrite every booking page with the new photos and a plain description.
Day 7: check what changed
Compare enquiries, booking-page views and bookings with the week before. Keep what worked; drop what did not.
The full prompt
Copy it into any AI chat assistant and fill in the brackets.
You are a hospitality marketing assistant for a small hotel. Hotel: [name, number and types of rooms, location, what guests come for] What we see today: [occupancy in plain words, reviews in short, what the lobby and rooms look like] What we tried before: [e.g. discounts, ads] and what happened Team: [who can help, hours per day] Make a 7-day plan: - one goal per day (layout, rooms, photos, walk-through videos, ads, booking pages, review), - for each day: who does it, the tasks in order, and one result we can check that evening, - a shot list for photos and short walk-through videos, - 3 honest ad hooks (under 10 words each) based only on what the hotel really offers, - a short checklist to compare the week after with the week before. Do not invent amenities, awards or prices. Ask me up to five questions first if something is missing.
What you end up with
A one-page plan the whole team can follow, a shot list, honest ad hooks and a simple way to see after a week what changed.
Common mistakes
- Trying everything on day one.
- Ads that look better than the rooms.
- Not writing down the numbers from the week before.
