Steps
Ask with a short form and a consent box
Three questions and one clear consent sentence that says where the words and photo will appear. No consent, no quote.
WeakCan we use your review?
BetterI agree that my words, my first name and the photo I send may appear on this shop's product pages and social posts. I can ask for removal at any time.
Clean the photos customers sent
Fix only the light and the background. Never change the person, the product or what the photo shows.
Caption the video testimonials
Add captions and make a vertical version. The words stay exactly as the customer said them; you may only cut pauses.
Put them on the product pages
Match each quote to the product it is about and to the doubt it answers, such as size, quality or delivery. A quote next to the doubt does more than a wall of praise on the home page.
Schedule the quote posts
Use the customer's first name only, and only if they agreed. Ten quotes become two weeks of posts.
The full instruction
Copy it into any AI chat assistant and change only the first line.
Change only this line: PRODUCT = [linen aprons for home cooks] You help me collect and use real customer testimonials for my PRODUCT, with permission. The testimonials will appear on product pages, social posts and emails. Before you start, ask me which doubts buyers usually have, such as size, quality or delivery time. Do four things: 1. Write 3 short questions to ask customers and one clear consent sentence that names every place the words and photo may appear and says they can ask for removal. 2. Write a thank-you message for customers who answer. 3. When I paste the answers, match each quote to a product and to the doubt it answers. Do not change, shorten in meaning or add words to any quote. 4. Write 10 post captions that use the customer's first name only. Never invent a testimonial. Start with the questions.
What you end up with
Ten real testimonials with written permission, each placed where buyers make their decision, and two weeks of honest posts. Every quote can be traced back to a customer who said yes.
Common mistakes
- Editing a customer's words to sound better.
- Using a photo or a full name without written consent.
- Writing testimonials yourself or with AI. That is a fake review, even if it sounds like a real customer.
Processes that need more than one tool
Each process below uses several tools, each for the job it does best. Any AI chat assistant works where one is named.
Ask with a short form and a consent box
Tools, in order: any AI chat assistant → Typeform
- Ask a chat assistant for three questions and a clear consent sentence.
- Build the form in Typeform with the consent as a required checkbox.
- Send it only to customers who bought and agreed to hear from you.
Recommended for this step: Typeform
Quality: every quote has written permission
The prompt for this process
Write a short testimonial request form. I will build it in Typeform. My product: [what it is] Where the words may appear: [product pages, social posts, emails] Write 3 short questions (what they bought it for, what changed, what they would tell a friend), an optional photo upload line and one consent sentence that names every place the words and photo may appear, says only the first name is used and says they can ask for removal at any time. Start with the questions.
Clean the photos customers sent
Tools, in order: any AI chat assistant → Fotor
- Check that the customer agreed to the photo being used.
- In Fotor, fix only the light and remove a busy background.
- Compare with the original: the person and the product must look the same.
Recommended for this step: Fotor
Money: no paid shoot for social proof
The prompt for this process
I am cleaning photos that customers sent with their testimonials. I will use Fotor only for light and background. Photo description: [what is in the photo] List what I may change (light, sharpness, a busy background) and what I must never change (the person's face, body, skin, the product, anything that changes what the photo shows). Then write a one-line check I do before using each photo. Start with what I may change.
Caption the video testimonials
Tools, in order: OpusClip → any AI chat assistant
- Upload the customer's video to OpusClip and add captions and a vertical version.
- Ask a chat assistant to compare the captions with the transcript.
- Fix any word that differs; cut only pauses.
Recommended for this step: OpusClip
Time: captions and formats in one pass
The prompt for this process
Here are the captions OpusClip made for a customer's video testimonial, and the transcript. Captions: [paste] Transcript: [paste] Compare them word by word and list every difference. Do not improve the customer's wording; the captions must match what was said. Suggest where pauses can be cut without changing the meaning. Start with the differences.
Put them on the product pages
Tools, in order: any AI chat assistant → Shopify
- Ask a chat assistant to match each quote to a product and a doubt.
- Add the quotes to the matching Shopify product pages, next to the doubt they answer.
- Check every page on a phone.
Recommended for this step: Shopify
Quality: proof sits where people decide
The prompt for this process
Match these real testimonials to my products. I will add them to my Shopify product pages. Testimonials (with permission): [paste quote, first name, product] Usual doubts per product: [e.g. size, quality, delivery] For each quote, give the product, the doubt it answers and where on the page it should sit. Do not change or shorten the meaning of any quote. If a quote fits no doubt, say so. Start with the first quote.
Schedule the quote posts
Tools, in order: any AI chat assistant → Blotato
- Ask a chat assistant for ten captions with the customer's first name only.
- Schedule them in Blotato over two weeks.
- Skip any customer who did not agree to social posts.
Recommended for this step: Blotato
Time: two weeks of posts at once
The prompt for this process
Write 10 social posts from real customer testimonials. I will schedule them in Blotato over two weeks. Quotes (with permission for social posts): [paste quote and first name] For each post: the quote exactly as given, the first name only, and one line of context (what they bought). No made-up details and no extra praise. Start with post 1.

We recommend a specialised tool for each process rather than one tool that does everything. Tools that try to do everything rarely do any one job really well, because no single function gets perfected. It is the same in life, in business and in relationships: spread your attention over ten places and nothing gets done properly.
