Guide
An AI family organiser — remember every name and birthday
One list that remembers first names, birthdays and one small like for each person — and reminds you in time.
What you need
- An AI assistant you already use (on your phone or computer)
- Your phone calendar, if the assistant cannot set reminders
- Ten quiet minutes with paper and pen
Steps
Write it on paper first
First name, birthday (day and month) and one thing each person likes. Nothing else.
Paste the list with the prompt
Use the prompt below so the assistant keeps it as your family list and answers in the same simple way every time.
Set reminders three days before
Only if your assistant really supports reminders — otherwise put the dates in your phone calendar yourself.
Ask once a month
“Who has a birthday next month, and what do they like?” Check the dates against your paper list the first time.
Update in one sentence
New hobby, new baby, new name you keep forgetting — tell it in one sentence.
The full prompt
Copy it into any AI chat assistant and fill in the brackets.
I want to remember my family better. Here is a list of first names, birthdays (day and month) and one thing each person likes. Keep it as my family list. When I ask, tell me whose birthday is coming next and suggest one simple, inexpensive gift idea based on what they like. If I use a name that is not on the list, tell me the closest name on the list. List: [First name — day month — likes ...] [First name — day month — likes ...] Start with the result itself — no introduction, no summary at the end.
What you end up with
A family list you can ask in one sentence, reminders before birthdays, and gentle corrections when a name slips.
Common mistakes
- Sharing children’s photos, full names, addresses or school names — first names and birthdays are enough.
- Trusting the dates without checking them once against your own notes.
- Not checking whether your conversations are used for training — switch it off in the settings if you can.
