Overfitting
Overfitting is when an AI model learns its examples too closely and then does badly on new cases it has not seen.
What it means in practice
It is a risk when you train or fine-tune on a small set of examples. Test on cases that were left out of the examples.
Example
A model tuned on a few dozen replies that copies their exact phrases and fails on a new kind of question.
