API key
An API key is a secret code that identifies you to a service and lets your programs use it on your account.
What it means in practice
Anyone who has the key can use your account and your credits. Never paste it into chats, shared documents or public code, and replace it if it leaks.
Example
A key stored in a private settings file so a script can call a voice tool.
