AI agent
An AI agent is a program that uses an AI model to plan steps and act on its own toward a goal you set, such as sorting messages or filling a form.
What it means in practice
Unlike a chat assistant that only answers, an agent can use tools and take actions. You decide what it may touch and you check the result.
Example
An agent that reads new customer emails, drafts replies and waits for your approval before sending.
